A dedicated advocate for literacy and youth, she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she supports mentoring, service scholarships, and voter registration initiatives to help others navigate changes. She is also a life member of the South Carolina State University National Alumni Association and the National Council of Teachers of Reading. Beyond her professional and civic involvement, she finds joy in singing with her church choir and is a proud mother of one son and one daughter.
